Hey guys. I'm not sure how many people were actually looking forward to my upcoming Patreon rewards; but after some more research on the boundaries of fan art and money-making, it seems there's no real way to gain any profit with fan art without being on the wrong side of the law. Now I've seen, and I know there currently are, countless artists that still make fan art with no major repercussions. However, I'm personally not motivated to keep doing what is considered wrong by legal terms, just to make a few bucks on the side. Unless I find a new legitimate and legal way to sell fan art, I won't be asking for compensation for my fan art projects, with exception to direct commissions for work including a copyrighted character.
BUT this may be good news for you, if you like my work that is. Soon I'll be uploading all of the characters from the "Choose Your Character" projects complete with full quality and all the recolor versions for free downloads. Making money off of 3rd party art was never my main goal as an artist. Part of my motivation is my love for the games, characters, memories, and communities that I've grown up with. These things have changed my life and I hope my fan art will touch the hearts of those who like those characters.
